Join us for our 40 Days of Community experience, beginning September 12th. Discover the power of togetherness as the body of Christ. Groups will be meeting on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Fall Ministry Teams Meeting
All Ministry Teams will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. on September 19th to work on team budgets for 2011 budget year. If you currently serve on a ministry team or have been nominated to serve in the coming year, be sure to put this date on your calendar and make attending a priority.
Connect with Teachers & Students
As the school year kicks off again, we are looking to build our partnership with Laketown Elementary by serving as mentors, tutors, classroom assistants, playground attendants, etc. This is a great way to develop relationships and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ in our community. See Pastor Jay for more information or to express your interest.
Annual Church Picnic
Set your date for our annual church picnic at Rochester Park on Sept. 12 @ 1.00 pm. Please bring 2 covered dishes. Your table setting and drinks will be provided. Donations for chicken are given to Bob Mayes. Hope to see you there.
Wednesday Night Youth is changing
Weekly youth group is moving from Wednesday evening to Saturday evening at 6:00 pm starting September 11. We will not meet on Wednesday, Sept. 8th that week
Senior Fellowship
September 30 at 11:00 am. We will visit Woodlawn Farm Underground Railroad at 1463 Gerkie Lane in Jacksonville, IL. $3 donation suggested. Lunch at Ponderosa.
Outreach for Our Military
Between now and September 11, Christian Radio Station WIBI is collecting Thank You Cards for Our American Military. The cards will be shipped to a partnering group that sends Love Packages to the troops. It doesn’t matter if the cards are home made, store bought, or simply a note expressing gratitude. They can, but do not have to have an envelope and/or return address. Betty Gum has offered to collect the cards for our church and get them to a drop-off location. She will need to receive them by Wednesday, September 8, in order to get them delivered. Thank you for your participation.
